Art Psychotherapist

I am an art psychotherapist who works creatively with young people experiencing a range of difficulties that may be causing them distress. I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council. I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from Lancaster University, an MSc in Mental Health Studies from Kings College London, and an MA in Art Psychotherapy from University of Roehampton. In addition, I have postgraduate certificates in ‘low-intensity CBT interventions’ from the University of Surrey.
I have worked for 10 years in mental health services in various settings, including charitable organisations and the NHS with both adults and young people. For the past 5 years, I have been working as a qualified art psychotherapist offering therapy to young people within CAMHS who have been experiencing low mood, anxiety, emotional dysregulation and trauma.
Many of us can struggle to put into words the tangles we can get into in our inner worlds and with our emotions. As an art psychotherapist, I provide a space to support young people to find ways to express themselves and encourage a compassionate approach to their inner world through creativity. I work in a flexible way, being led by the needs of the individual and working at their pace. Through this, I aim to support young people in finding their voice, becoming more aware of their self and different relationships around them, connecting with their strengths and values, and building confidence.
No artistic skill or experience is needed, just a willingness to be creative and curious together
