I am a qualified and experienced family and systemic psychotherapist, supervisor and consultant with over thirty years of NHS experience. I have worked in CAMHS, NHS for over twenty years and continue to practice both in the NHS and independently for Repose Psychology. I am registered with AFT, UKCP, RCN, NMC.

I have additional training in a wide range of modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), non-violent resistance (NVR), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), attachment based family therapy (ABFT), metallisation based treatment for families (MBT-F) I am also a qualified mental health and paediatric nurse.

When I offer family and systemic psychotherapy, also known as family therapy, I use my extensive training and experience to tailor what I offer the people and families I aim to fit with what they need. I work with an individual or family’s many strengths to explore what brought them to therapy, and any other more difficult thoughts, emotions and experiences that they are going through.

I respect the importance of each person’s values, beliefs and culture, and that families are all different. I can meet with families in different ways, I can see a family all together or I can see a child, young person or adult who are part of the same family individually. I can also offer a mixture of individual and family appointments.

Family and systemic psychotherapy is helpful for people of any age who want to build closer and happier relationships. Research shows family and systemic psychotherapy can help individuals and families who are experiencing child and adolescent mental health issues, behaviour they are worried about, self-harm, trauma and the effects of trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, separation and divorce. Family and systemic psychotherapy is recommended in the NICE guidelines
(especially for children/young people and families) for treating a range of different mental and physical health issues.
